What Groups Can Pray for More Than One School?

All groups can pray for more than one school, including Traditional Groups. This is a great option for moms who have yet to find another mom to pray with from their child’s school. Then, when another mom is found, the two women can start their own group.

How Do I Register All of the Schools?

All schools that are prayed for on a regular basis during the School Concerns time should be registered. This includes Traditional Groups, Grandmother Groups, Church-based Groups, Working Mom Groups, Children with Special Needs Groups, etc. To register each school, include ONE school in the SCHOOL NAME blank, then include ALL OTHER SCHOOLS in the COMMENTS section.

How Should I Orchestrate School Intercession When More Than One School Is Prayed For?

During intercession time, groups can be divided by schools or ages of the children. The leader can write a generic request under School Concerns on the Prayer Sheet, and each mom can personalize it for her child’s school. Such generic prayer requests can include safety, choosing curriculum, school board issues, unity on staff, events related to holidays, etc. If a mom has an important request for the school, she can give it to the leader ahead of time so it can be included on the Prayer Sheet, or she can pray the request in her group of two or three during the School Concerns time.

Should I Register the School(s) Prayed for if No One in the Group Has a Child at that School?

The goal of Moms in Prayer International is to have every school covered in prayer. Therefore, we ask that every group, even groups praying for children not in school, designate a school to pray for. This can be the child’s previous or future school, a neighborhood school or a school that is on your heart.

However, occasionally a group will list all the schools in a district as being prayed for.

Please only list schools that are being prayed for. Our goal is to have every school covered in prayer, and knowing which schools are or are not being covered in prayer is important.

What Happens if a Mom from an “Adopted” School Calls to Join a Group?

If you are praying for a school where none of the children in your group attend, your group type will show up in the Group Locator, such as Prodigal or Military. If a mom from that school contacts you about joining, please let her know how excited you are that she is an answer to prayer! Explain that your group prays FOR the school but that your children are older. As the leader, you might want to meet with her to pray and help her find another group or mom. Please also connect her to a Moms in Prayer Area Coordinator, State Coordinator or Regional Director.
